VirtConsole 3.3.5.1

VirtConsole 3.3.5.1 applies public IP changes to the running guest on supported Linux images, on KVM and Proxmox.

VirtConsole 3.3.5.1 adds live application of public IP changes. When you add, remove or move a public address, the change is applied to the running guest, with no reboot and no manual network edit.

Supported images

Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 12, CentOS Stream 9, Rocky Linux 9 and 10, AlmaLinux 9 and 10 and Fedora 44, using netplan or systemd-networkd, or NetworkManager with keyfile profiles and the ifcfg profiles cloud-init writes on Enterprise Linux. The main address stays first and the default route keeps using it.

What to expect

  • A stopped guest receives the change at its next boot.
  • If the guest agent blocks the commands the change needs, the address shows a clear “guest exec disabled” state and stays reserved until an administrator acts.
  • On Proxmox, the VM firewall address filter follows each change.
  • Windows guests keep their existing behaviour: the change applies at the next reboot.

The state of each address is available in the panel and in the convergence field of the instance IP list in the API. See the API changelog for the states and reasons.
